Dave Ruch – A Free Online Concert for Your School

HIGH RES - Dave Ruch banjo 1This week I had the pleasure of connecting with Dave Ruch, a talented musician and performer widely noted for his ability to engage audiences of all kinds. Dave travels regionally and internationally from his home base in Buffalo NY, giving hundreds of concerts and workshops each year for schools, music festivals, libraries, historical societies, professional conferences, folk music organizations, museums and community events across the northeastern U.S., Canada and the U.K. He is a historian, entertainer, educator, comedian and folklorist. His songs are a collection carefully pieced together from old songbooks, diaries, recordings, journals and sometimes from his own children. Playing a variety of instruments, he is a true storyteller that captivates his audiences everywhere.

Free Concert

You and your class are formally invited to join Dave Ruch on Friday, October 10 at 1:15 pm Eastern time for a live, interactive free concert that’s being broadcast nationwide from his home studio in Buffalo, NY. The program is called “World Communities Concert”, and features songs, musical instruments and stories from around the globe — Africa, Russia, Ireland, India and more. Geared for grades K-5, this program is simple to access and requires only one thing from you: that your students like to laugh, sing, move, answer questions, and get involved as they learn!

Dave has had tremendous feedback from teachers, administrators and students since launching these distance learning concerts last year, and he’s happy to share this exciting new format with you free of charge as he celebrates Connected Educator Month in October.

You can reserve your spot for the free concert here, and Dave would be happy to email you more information and a test link to make sure you have what’s needed on your end to participate (90+% of schools do!) If you have a computer, an hard-wired internet connection (you need to plug-in), a SMARTBoard or screen and projector, and speakers you have everything you need!

To Learn More . . .
Dave offers a full slate of “virtual” arts-in-education programs! These live, interactive concerts can be enjoyed on any SMART Board, personal computer, or other internet-connected screen or device. Visit Dave’s website for more information and book your concert today!
