What’s New for 2013?

Welcome back to another exciting school year! Over the summer I met with a variety of unique experts and organizations interested in connecting with you and your students.  The Saint Louis Zoo and Beyond Kung Fu are the dHL’s newest members.  In the coming months, Atomic Energy, the Canadian Mining Association, and the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority will also be joining the dHL to bring even more program opportunities into classrooms across Canada. If you are looking for new and exciting ways to engage your students with the curriculum, please visit the Member Directory for ideas! Already a member?  Then login to begin searching complete dHL member profiles and book your session today!

Also new this year, the dHL welcomes Adrian Nowicki – a University of Toronto professional writing student – who will be a weekly contributor to the dHL blog. Adrian’s first series of posts will focus on video conferencing in the 21st century classroom. In the months that follow, Adrian will be exploring a variety of topics related to the effective use of technology in K-12 classrooms. Some topics may include:

  • Gaming – Inspiring Authentic Collaborative Possibilities in Real World Contexts

  • Integrating iPads – 1-to-1 Technology in the Primary Classroom

  • B.Y.O.D – Bring Your Own Device

  • Twitter in the Classroom

The dHL is fortunate to have Adrian on staff, and we are looking forward to reading his first post later this week!  Until then . . .
